The best way to reach this site is by email. Every message that arrives at this address is read, and messages that need a reply get one, usually within a day.
There is also a form below the email. Both go to the same place. The form exists for one reason: email spam filters sometimes catch messages that were not spam, and if a reply is not appearing in your inbox after a couple of days, checking the spam folder is worth a moment. If it still is not there, the form on this page is a reliable second try.
What to include
You do not need to include much. If you are reporting a mistake in the archive, the puzzle number is the fastest way to point to it, but the answer and the date you played it are just as good — whichever you have to hand. If you are asking about something that is not on the site yet, describe the question you were trying to answer. That is usually enough to work out what would help.
For messages that are simply a hello, a note that something is broken on your device, or a suggestion for a feature — a line or two is fine. The site is maintained by one person and the correspondence is kept simple.
What gets a fast reply
Corrections to the archive are the priority. If you can show that a word or a date is wrong, the fix is usually made the same day the message is received, and the reply confirms what was changed.
Reports that a page is broken, slow, or unreadable on a particular device or browser also get an immediate look. Please mention what you were using — the device, the browser, and whether you were logged into anything at the time matter more than they sound like they should.
What may take longer
Feature requests are read and appreciated, but a reply usually only comes after the feature is either built or actively dismissed. Suggestions that would compromise the accuracy of the archive, or that would spoil today’s answer for other visitors, are politely declined; everything else is considered on its own terms.
Requests for links, guest posts, sponsored content, or paid mentions are declined without exception, and messages of that kind do not receive a reply. The archive is a reference, not an advertising channel.
Timing
Replies are written when there is time to write them properly rather than quickly. Most fair questions get an answer within a working day. If a message is genuinely time-sensitive — for example, if the site is showing something that looks wrong to you and other visitors may be seeing it too — mentioning that in the subject line will bring it forward in the queue. <!– Contact form goes below this line.
